Natural Remedies for Asthma

What is an Asthma Attack?

Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disease of the bronchial tubes that obstructs and blocks the airway and makes breathing extremely difficult. It is also referred to as bronchial asthma. It can result in anaphylactic shock (a severe condition requiring emergency medical attention).

When you have an asthma attack, it causes wheezing and a sense of panic in individuals who can’t get enough air into their lungs. The breathing passages can spasm and shut 100% causing you to be unable to inhale or exhale. It is a very frightening situation, as I discovered personally.  Fortunately, I’ve since learned how to prevent future asthma attacks and stop them before they happen.

What Triggers Asthma?

Asthma can be triggered by allergies or by exercise (exercise induced asthma), and most commonly where there is a high degree of particulate smog, cigarette smoke, dust, pollen or pet dander (their dead skin cells). There is also an immune system overreaction that your body sees as an attack against an incoming invader and attempts to attack it and it causes histamine release, inflammation and swelling of the bronchial tubes.

Symptoms of Asthma Attack

You can just feel an asthma attack coming on by the tell tale symptoms. Bronchial Asthma symptoms are caused by histamines (or things that cause your body to have an immune response) which causes the bronchial tubes to become inflamed and swollen, limiting the amount of air you can inhale into your lungs. When you panic it makes it even worse. The most common symptoms are:

  • Wheezing
  • Tightness in the chest area
  • Chronic cough
  • Itching skin or throat area
  • A sudden feeling of discomfort

If you feel these asthma symptoms coming on, you better have a way to stop them before they stop you!

How to Stop an Asthma Attack

Bronchial asthma can fully block the airways if it gets really bad so it’s necessary to have an inhaler or fast acting asthma control formula with you or within a minutes reach from you. It’s still a good idea to keep a holistic asthma treatment formula on hand to prevent attacks before you go outside on a smoggy day or when you go hiking, swimming or exercising.

Swimming in particular irritates the bronchial tubes and induces asthma attacks because of all the chemicals, particularly chlorine in the water. Swimming the sea is easier for asthmatics if the water is not contaminated by chemical or radiation spills.

Home Remedies for Asthma

There are some natural home remedies for asthma that can help you prevent your next attack. The best way to stop asthma from attacking your bronchial tubes is to train your body not to react to trigger (often environmental or emotional) histamine creating substance that is causing your body to react negatively to the situation.

Emotional sensitivity training (Emotional Freedom Technique) can be a positive way to help you not react to the sensation of an attack and stop it before it even starts. It can teach you how to use your mind body connection to control and keep your bronchial tubes open in an emergency or under a stressful situation. I highly recommend you try this method. It works well for stopping habits you no longer want, phobias, even PTSD. All naturally and safely.

Learning Meditation is also good as it can calm the stress response and teach you how to breathe fully, slowly and deeply. When you know you’re in control there is a lot less stress hormones being produced and you can often stop an attack before it begins. You can combine EFT and Meditation and get the best of both worlds.

Asthma Natural Remedies

There are certain asthma natural remedies that you can use at home, and take with you when you are out and about. Herbs and Homeopathic remedies for asthma can literally save your life. Use your inhaler, if you have one until you get and make sure these natural asthma remedies work for you. I don’t recommend long-term use of asthma inhalers as they weaken your body, and you have to take more and more. Best if you learn how to stop the triggers naturally.

With asthma attacks you need to make sure to address your immune system reaction that is causing the histamines to have an inflammatory response and this is typically overlooked. You can do this by having a balanced immune system, a weak immune system will attack your own cells because of underlying infection, therefore you should keep your immune system balanced by natural immunity boosters and a natural heavy metal detoxifier and anti-viral mineral like zeolite powder.

The goal is to get completely rid of asthma by learning to recognize the source of the histamine that is causing the attack. Look at the Asthma Free Forever guide for the long-term solutions to removing the source of you or your children’s asthma. Choose holistic natural and herbal formulas because they are non-addictive and allow your body to heal naturally. Prescription medications and inhalers are wonderful for emergencies but can be quite harmful in the long term.

How to Prevent Asthma

Start the healing process by using the natural remedies above and slowly wean yourself off the heavy medications and into a healthy state that no longer requires steroid inhalers or medications.

Also look into getting a good Hepa Vacuum and Hepa Air Purifier to keep your air as free from asthma triggers as possible. When you do have to go out during high pollen or during a lot of pollution (or even near pets) be sure to take some Biovent drops preventatively.

Use Biovent instead as a preventative before you go out or go exercising and also as an emergency treatment. Asthma can be a medical emergency so please be prepared and keep some handy when you need it!
